이 책은 프란츠 카프카의 ‹변신›을 재구성한 작업이다. 소설 속 사물들이 주체보다 더 큰 힘을 가지듯, 이 책에서도 부차적 요소인 각주가 본문을 잠식한다. 원문과 나란히 배치된 각주는 단순한 보충 설명이 아니라, 서로를 참조하며 이중·삼중으로 연결된다. 독자는 이러한 주석의 중첩 속에서 선형적 독해의 흐름을 잃고, 분기와 확장을 거듭하게 된다.

This book reconstructs Franz Kafka’s Metamorphosis. Just as the objects in the novel exert greater power than the subject, the footnotes here overtake the main text, shifting from a subsidiary element to the core of reading. Placed alongside the original text, the footnotes are not mere supplements but interreferential layers that connect in double and triple sequences. Within this accumulation, the reader loses a linear path of reading and instead encounters a field of branching and expansion.
