«허약함을 직조하기»는 하이팩 하드(111g)의 물성에서 출발한다. 얇고 가벼우면서도 쉽게 찢어지지 않는 이 종이의 성질은, 허약한 것이 반드시 쉽게 무너지는 것은 아니라는 전제를 만든다. 작업은 ‘코끼리를 냉장고에 넣는 법’이라는 실현 불가능한 가설을 “문을 연다, 코끼리를 넣는다, 문을 닫는다”라는 단순한 지시문으로 풀어쓴 뒤, 이를 반복·중첩해 하나의 촘촘한 표면으로 직조한다. 조건과 맥락이 제거된 문장은 그 자체로는 가볍고 허술하지만, 일정한 규칙 속에서 반복되며 서로를 지지하는 시각적 구조를 형성한다. 결과적으로 이 작업은 종이의 물성과 문장의 성질을 겹쳐놓으며, 허약한 내용이 형식의 압력 속에서 어떤 방식으로 밀도와 지속성을 획득하는지 살핀다.

《Weaving Frailty》 begins with the material qualities of Hi-Pack Hard (111g). Thin and light, yet not easily torn, the paper suggests that fragility does not necessarily mean collapse. The work takes the impossible proposition of “how to put an elephant into a refrigerator” and rewrites it as a set of simple instructions—“open the door, put the elephant in, close the door”—which are then repeated and layered into a dense woven surface. Stripped of condition and context, the sentences are light and almost flimsy on their own, yet through repetition within a fixed rule they begin to support one another and form a visual structure. In this way, the work overlays the material properties of paper with the qualities of language, examining how fragile content can acquire density and persistence under the pressure of form.
